About Spring in Korea

Hello,

I am a proud Korean who loves Korea and lives in Korea. I have multiple blogs and thought it would be a good idea to start a blog to introduce Korea and Koreans to people around the world.

For my first post, I want to introduce Korea's spring, which is a time when the coronavirus settles down, the warm weather arrives, and the streets are filled with beautiful flowers.

1. Cherry Blossom Season

Korea's spring begins with various flowers blooming, including forsythia, magnolia, cherry blossoms, and azaleas. This beautiful scenery attracts not only Koreans but also many people from around the world.

2. Warm Temperatures

After the harsh and cold winter, Koreans look forward to the warm temperatures that come with spring. It's a great time to go outside and enjoy the fresh air.

3. Outdoor Activities

As the weather warms up, people enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and picnicking.

4. Spring Festivals

There are many festivals in Korea during the spring, such as the Seoul Lantern Festival, Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival, and Gwangju Kimchi Culture Festival.

5. Spring Cleaning

Koreans also engage in spring cleaning, clearing out unnecessary items and tidying up their homes.

6. Spring Foods

Koreans enjoy various vegetable dishes, known as "namul," which are freshly grown in the spring and are rich in vitamins and minerals. They are also great for diets.

7. Entrance Ceremonies

In Korea, the new school year begins in March, which is the start of spring. Many schools hold entrance ceremonies for new students.

8. Fashion

As the weather gets warmer, people look for lighter and brighter-colored clothes. Fashion-conscious Koreans choose colors that match the spring season.

9. Holidays

Many holidays fall in the spring, such as Children's Day, Buddha's Birthday, and Memorial Day.

10. Mountains

In Korea's mountains, the vibrant greenery of freshly grown leaves and the evergreen pine trees create a lively and beautiful scene.

All four seasons in Korea are beautiful, but April and October, when various flowers and autumn leaves are in full bloom, are especially breathtaking. If you plan to visit Korea, I recommend visiting during these months.
